Cutting: Powered by a SCR-controlled, variable speed DC motor, the 40 Series cuts 250,000 denier at speeds up to 325 meters per minute. A durable, high performance double reduction belt drive employs a main shaft sprocket located between radial bearings for increased life and quiet operation.
Presser Wheel: The 40 Series cutter uses a large diameter (10 inch), pneumatically loaded presser wheel. This load adjusts easily from the rear side of the cutter.
Guide System: The tow guide provides proper tow presentation to the reel. A trumpet guide precisely confines tow at the critical area of reel contact to prevent filaments from escaping and producing super-overlengths. This trumpet guide swings away for lace-up and reel installation. The guide system is located on the operating side of the cutter.
Configuration: A welded, monopost, self-supporting frame design provides access to three sides of the discharge chute.
Options: An extensive list of options provides staple fiber producers an opportunity to configure the 40 Series cutter to their precise needs; from tow heights to speeds, total denier to cut lengths, custom drives to special paints; DM&E provides these to your requirements.
Cutter Reels: The 40 Series cutter uses radial blade reels. The 40 Series reel uses a drawbar for installation. This makes for easy single operator installation .
Safety: Swing-open front and rear reel guards electrically interlock with the motor drive to prevent accidental starting.
Power Requirements: 230 volts, single-phase, 50/60 Hz, AC
Weight: Approximately 700 lbs.
Warranty: The 40 Series is warranted for one year against defects in material and workmanship. Cutter reels and expendable wear items are excluded.
Price/Delivery: Quotation upon request (specify right to left or left to right operation)
